Setup101 for podcasters

Episodes live forever. Show-notes links don't, unless you use one.

Setup101 gives podcasters one link for their recording gear and the products they mention, to put in show notes and episode descriptions. When a product changes, you update the setup and every episode that links to it is up to date.

One link, everywhere

Where to put your setup link.

WhereWhat to write

When something changes, edit the setup — the link stays the same. How permanent links work

How it works

Three steps, about ten minutes.

  1. 01

    List your gear

Add your recording setup and anything you recommend, from any retailer, with your own affiliate links.

  2. 02

Link it in your show notes

Use the setup link in every episode, so there's one link to keep up to date.

  3. 03

    Update in one place

Upgrade a mic or swap a sold-out product in the setup. Every episode pointing to it shows the change.

What Setup101 doesn't do

  • Setup101 doesn't host podcasts or publish episodes; it's the page your show notes link to.
  • It doesn't change show notes already published in podcast apps; use your setup link going forward.

Questions, answered

What podcasters ask first.

Why do podcast show-notes links break?

Products get discontinued or move, and retailers change their links. Old episodes keep getting played, but their show notes are rarely updated.

Can I make a page per episode?

Yes. Make a setup for an episode's products, or keep one setup for your recording gear and use it in every episode.

Does Setup101 take a cut of my commission?

No. Your links point to your own affiliate accounts, so the commission is yours.
