Which video sites can I use in a 101 Course?

Available on:All plansLast updated

Lessons play videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom and Wistia. Paste the video's link into the lesson's Video field (or a Video block), and it plays inside the lesson in that site's own player.

How to add a video

  1. Upload the video to YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or Wistia.
  2. Copy its link, for example a YouTube watch link, a youtu.be link, a Shorts link, a Vimeo link or a Loom share link.
  3. In the lesson, paste it into Video (optional) at the top, or add a Video block anywhere in the lesson.
  4. Click Save lesson.

Can I use unlisted or private videos?

  • Unlisted YouTube videos and unlisted Vimeo videos (including links with the private hash) work. They play in the lesson but don't show in search on those sites.
  • Private YouTube videos don't play outside YouTube, so they won't work.
  • Anyone with the video's own link can still watch it on the video site. Keep that in mind for anything you don't want shared.

Why can't I upload a video to Setup101?

Not yet. Video sites handle streaming, captions and every screen size well, and you keep your views and subscribers there.

FAQ

My video won't play in the lesson. Why?

Check the video's privacy setting on the video site (it must be public or unlisted) and that embedding is allowed. On YouTube that's Allow embedding in the video's details.

Can a lesson have more than one video?

Yes. Use the video at the top, then add Video blocks anywhere in the lesson.
