How do I set up payouts on Setup101?

Go to Settings → Payouts, choose the country your bank is in and click Set up payouts with Stripe. Stripe asks for your identity and bank details, then sends you back to Setup101. You only do this once: every paid feature on Setup101 uses the same payout account.

Setup101 uses Stripe to pay creators. Stripe checks your identity and holds your bank details, so Setup101 never sees them.

How to set up payouts

  1. Open Settings and go to Payouts.
  2. Under Country your bank is in, choose your country. Stripe can't change it later (see the FAQ below).
  3. Click Set up payouts with Stripe.
  4. Follow Stripe's steps (your details, identity check and bank account).
  5. When Stripe sends you back, the status shows Payouts are on, or Being checked while Stripe reviews your details.

What do the payout statuses mean?

  • Not set up

    What it means
    You haven't connected a payout account.
    What to do
    Click Set up payouts with Stripe.

  • Unfinished

    What it means
    Stripe still needs a few details.
    What to do
    Click Continue in Stripe and finish the steps.

  • Being checked

    What it means
    Stripe is reviewing your details. This is usually quick.
    What to do
    Wait, or click Check again.

  • Payouts are on

    What it means
    You're ready to be paid.
    What to do
    Nothing. Use Change bank or view payouts to see past payouts or change your bank.

What are payouts used for?

Sponsored slots today. Selling mini courses with your products is planned next. You'll use the same payout account for both.

FAQ

Do I need payouts before I can sell sponsored slots?

Yes. You can't switch on Accept sponsorships on a setup until payouts are set up, because Setup101 needs somewhere to send your money when a campaign ends.

My country isn't in the list. What can I do?

Stripe can't pay out to every country. PayPal is planned as a second payout method for countries Stripe doesn't support.

How do I change the bank I'm paid into?

In Settings → Payouts, click Change bank or view payouts. Your Stripe dashboard opens, and you can change your bank there. You don't need to disconnect anything.

Can I change my payout country?

Stripe can't change an account's country, so you connect a new payout account instead. Do the same if a different person or company should be paid:

  1. In Settings → Payouts, click Disconnect next to Disconnect payout account, then Disconnect again to confirm.
  2. Choose the new country and click Set up payouts with Stripe.
  3. Switch Accept sponsorships back on for your setups. Disconnecting switches it off.

You can't disconnect while a sponsorship request is waiting, a campaign is live, a dispute is open or a payment hasn't been sent yet. Your old Stripe account and its payout history stay in Stripe.

When will I be paid?

Setup101 sends your money to Stripe 48 hours after each campaign ends. Stripe then pays it into your bank on its payout schedule, usually about a week later for new accounts. See when you get paid.
