What are sponsored slots on Setup101?

Available on:All plansLast updated

Sponsored slots is a Setup101 feature that lets brands pay creators to feature a product on one of the creator's setups for 1 week, 1 month or 3 months. The brand's card is only charged if the creator accepts within 72 hours, every sponsored product is labelled "Sponsored", and creators are paid automatically 48 hours after the campaign ends.

Every creator can sell sponsored slots, on Free, Pro and Pro Plus. Anyone with a Setup101 account can sponsor a creator; there's no separate brand account.

How do sponsored slots work for creators?

  1. Set up payouts once, in Settings → Payouts.
  2. Open a public setup, go to Sponsored slots, switch on Accept sponsorships and set a price for each length you want to offer. Selling sponsored slots has the steps.
  3. When a brand sends a request, you have 72 hours to Accept and go live or Decline. See responding to a request.
  4. The product shows on your setup with a Sponsored label for the length the brand chose.
  5. You're paid automatically, 48 hours after the campaign ends.

How do sponsored slots work for brands?

  1. Open Sponsor a creator in the sidebar, or click Sponsor this setup on a setup with an open slot.
  2. Choose how long, describe your product and add a message to the creator.
  3. Pay with Stripe Checkout. Your card is held, not charged.
  4. If the creator accepts within 72 hours, your card is charged and the product goes live straight away. If they don't, the hold is released.

Sponsoring a creator has the full steps.

FAQ

Do I need Pro to sell sponsored slots?

No. Every plan can sell sponsored slots. Pro and Pro Plus keep more of each sponsorship (85% and 92.5%, against 80% on Free).

Can a brand choose which slot it gets?

No. The next free slot on the setup is used. A setup can have up to 3 sponsored products at a time, depending on its views.

Can a sponsorship be cancelled once it's live?

No. Before the creator accepts, the brand can withdraw for free. Once it's live, either side can raise a dispute and Setup101 decides. See cancellations and disputes.

Is there a chat between brands and creators?

Not yet. The brand writes a brief and a message with the request, and the creator can add a note when declining. Both get emails at each step.
