Can I cancel a sponsorship? Refunds and disputes explained

A brand can withdraw a sponsorship request for free until the creator accepts. Once a sponsorship is live, it can't be cancelled. If something goes wrong, either side can raise a dispute and Setup101 decides whether the brand is refunded or the creator is paid. If the creator removes a live product, the brand is refunded in full.

How to raise a dispute

  1. Open the campaign (from Sponsored slots if you're the creator, or My campaigns if you're the brand).
  2. Click Raise a dispute.
  3. Under What happened?, explain the problem.
  4. Click Raise dispute. You'll see "Dispute raised. We'll be in touch."

While a dispute is open, the creator's payout is on hold. Setup101 looks at it and then either refunds the brand or releases the money to the creator.

What happens if the creator removes the product?

The creator can click Remove product on a live campaign, then Remove and refund. The brand gets a full refund and the creator isn't paid for that campaign. Removing products often can lead to a creator's sponsorships being paused.

Is there a cancellation fee?

No. Withdrawing before acceptance is free, and nothing is charged for declined or expired requests.

Can a brand get a partial refund?

No. A refund, after a removal or a dispute, is always the full amount the brand paid.

How long does a dispute take?

Setup101 reviews each one and gets in touch with both sides. The payout stays on hold until it's decided.
